Where’s My Furniture???

19 Apr

Is more better? Minimalist belief is to produce more appeal using only essential features and forms. How can this be done, more with less? One surprising answer is bathroom furniture. Bisazza Bagno has introduced a new series of minimalist bathroom furniture in Larch wood with their Nendo collection.

Interestingly, this image of the new collection looks vaguely similar to the popular Dutch painter Piet Mondrain’s Composition C (no III) with Red, Yellow and Blue.
The simple, yet elegant concept of lines and boxes is showcased in both forms of artwork.
With simple forms and colors, this new style of furniture may leave some people asking the question, where is my furniture? And the minimalist answer is, it’s there. The simple forms give known fixtures a disguising illusion.

How to Mount A Towel Bar in Your Bathroom

18 Aug

Things Needed

  1. Stud Marker (optional)
  2. Screws
  3. Measuring Tape
  4. Level

You don’t really realize how much you need your bathroom towel bar, until it is no longer functioning. If you have a broken towel bar, you can find yourself wondering where to hang your wet towels. When you are ready to hang a new towel bar, you may feel like you have no idea what you are doing. The good news is that changing a towel bar is simple and easy as long as you follow a few steps.

Step 1

Measure where you are planning to hang your towel bar. Hold the bar next to the wall and center it where you want to place it. If you have a stud finder, use it to help you locate the studs in the wall. Mark the wall where each end of the bar will hang.

Step 2

Attach one of the mounting plates. Start with one of the mounting plates and loosely attach it to the wall. Make sure that you don’t tighten the screw completely. If one of the mounting plates are going to be on a stud, mount that one first. If there are no studs, attach the screws with an anchor.

Step 3

Check your measurements. Before you attach the second mounting plate, make sure that your measurements are correct. Place one side of the bar into the mounting plate that is installed. Make sure that your mark for the second plate is correct.

Step 4

Install the second plate. If the measurement is correct, then install your second mounting plate.

Step 5

Level out your work. After both plates are mounted, use a level and make sure the plates are even. Since the screws will still be loose, you can move the plates up and down to make them level. When you are happy with the mounts, tighten all of the screws.

Step 6

Place the bar on the mounting plates. Attach the bar on the plates. An allen key is usually in the kit. Use the allen key to tighten every tiny little screw. Make sure that the rack is tight and secure. Remember this rack is going to be holding heavy and wet towels, so don’t miss any steps.
